Kerstin

Just be as you are.

Yes, she´s my Mom.

What is the most important thing in your life and why?
For me the most important thing is my family, that everybody is healthy and happy. The family is my center of life – I would perish if I was alone. I am happy if there is harmony surrounding me, when I feel that I am in keeping with everything.

If money didn’t matter, what would you do with your life/time?
My life as a matter of fact is nice – I have a great family and absolutely lovely friends on which I can count. First of all I would make all my beloved ones´s dreams come true, and secondly I would make  architects and gardeners restore and revamp all buildings and areas of our estate. During that time I finally would make my husband´s dream come true: to drive all over Canada with a nice caravan until he looses interest.

Who has inspired you in your life and why?
I didn´t have a real human being as a role model – but I was crazy about Gojko Mitic, the actor in GDR-western movies (he played a native American). He was my hero! I once had bought a poster of Gojko at the movie theater, I had kept it rolled up between my knees so that I could close my jacket more easily. Suddenly there was a boy behind me, he snagged the poster and wanted to run away. At that time I had a cast around my arm, so I ran after the guy, knocked him on the head with it and got my poster back. The boy looked totally disbelieving, he swayed a bit and went away. And I was happy to have my treasure back.

What was the best moment/day in your life so far?
Without any doubt the birth of my kids. But first I had to have a good night´s rest before I could feel like this. Directly after the birth I was just very exhausted and happy that the little ones made it into this world healthy. Later on, when I had them lying in my arms, I was superhappy. Kids are the greatest thing in this world.

What advice would you give to your 20 year old self?
Never try to meet somebody else´s expectations but just be as you are. The more you alter yourself the more complicated life becomes and the less you can explore who you really are and self-actualize yourself.
